Premier League fans are in for a real treat in round three. Last year’s third places Tottenham Hotspurs is playing against last year’s eighth Liverpool. It should be an exciting duel in London at White Heart Lane. Looking at the rosters two equally strong teams will play against each other. Kick-off is Saturday at 1.30 PM.
After having scored 4 points in the first two games Tottenham can be satisfied with their season so far, even though they only scored two goals, but their defense was persuasive. The season opener against Everton ended 1:1 and on the second game day Tottenham was able to beat Crystal Palace 1:0 at home. Coach Ponchetti can be rather satisfied with the new signees of summer 2016. Vincent Jannsen from AZ Alkmaar and Wanyama from FC Southampton joined the team. On the other hand Tottenham didn’t see any key players leave. So the team is already well played together and has the goal of finishing in the top three. Additionally the Hotspur hardly have any injured players and so can play well prepared against Liverpool.
Coach Jürgen Klopp’s eleven started the season well with a great 4:3 at Arsenal London. Then they lost though against promoted team FC Burnley with 2:0. In the last game in EFL Cup Liverpool returned to the road of success however and clearly won 5:0 against Burton Albion. Four difeerent offensive players were able to score a goal in that game. Liverpool seems to buy into Klopp’s style of play more and more and the new players Mané, Markovic and Wijnaldum fit into the team perfectly. Since Liverpool doesn’t have the double burden of Premier League and Europe Cup this year, one can expect a lot from this team with that coach. On defense Liverpool added Joel Matip from Schalke 04 and for the goal Manninger is a good back up for Karius and Mignolet. Klopp will miss Karius on Saturday due to a broken wrist. Lucas Leiva, Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez are also in the injured list.
We are expecting an open, entertaining match with no clear favorite. A lot in this game will depend on which team scores the first goal. Our recommendation: Tip X.
