Betting tip World Cup 2018: Norway - Germany
Sunday, 04.09.2016 at 20:45 o’clock (CET)
Norway first World Cup Qualification opponent for Germany
Germany has to play in Norway in Group C. Norway already shows a lot of respect for the reigning world champion before the game. The signs for these two teams couldn’t be more adverse. While Germany won their friendly game against Finland, Norway lost at home against Belarus. Kick-off is September 4 at 8.45 PM.
Current form Germany
Jogi Löw tested a lot of new things against Finland. Niklas Süle from TSG Hoffenheim and Kevin Volland for example got playing time. The fact that Bernd Leno subbed in for Marc Andre Ter Stegen, who didn’t have a lot to do, at halftime proved that Germany was dominating the game at all times. The goals were scored by Max Meyer and Mesut Özil, who came off the bench. After Schweinsteiger had his farewell, Löw nominated Manuel Neuer as the new captain. He will now be the first goal keeper after Oliver Kahn to wear the captain’s ribbon. Kevin Volland suffered a hand injury in the game in Mönchengladbach and so will miss the game against Norway. It will be interesting to see, whether Germany will play with Götze as a “wrong nine” on offense again or if Thomas Müller will be the sole striker. Even though Germany might not have their top eleven right now, they are still an experienced team that’s well played together and so will always have enough chances on offense.
Current form Norway
Norway is experiencing a lot of ups and downs in 2016. A win is followed by a loss most of the time. They started 2016 with a goalless draw against Estonia which was followed by a 2:0 home win against Finland. After that they lost 0:3 against Portugal. Then they won against Iceland 2:3, but lost their last game against Belarus 0:1. If Norway wants to be successful in Group C against Germany, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan and San Marino they need to become more consistent. Almost every player on Per-Mathias Högmö’s team is playing abroad and so is used to football on a high level. Norway is strong on offense, but lately they lack the last consequence to score. That’s why Mohammed Abdellaoue got nominated for the games against Belarus and Germany. So far he scored 5 goals and gave 2 assists in 11 games in Norway’s Tippeligaen. Norway is playing an offensive 4-3-3 system. Berisha and Berget are supposed to provide drive on the wings. They would have the player material in order to qualify for the World Cup, but it needs to be seen, whether Norway can gain consistency.
Germany enters the game as the clear favorite and they will justify that. Our recommendation: Tip 2.
