Betting tip Olympia Rio 2016 Soccer Men: Denmark - Brazil
Thursday, 11.08.2016 at 03:00 o’clock (CET)
Will the group phase already be the end for Brazil?
The Brazilian team didn't perform well at all so far. The host is only in third place on the third day of action. Brazil will really have to win against Denmark in order to make it to the quarter finals. Kick-off is Thursday at 3 AM.
Current form Denmark
There is a lot at stake for Denmark in Group A on the last day of group play. Although the team from Northern Europe currently ranks at first place in the group after two days of action, they could still be eliminated if they lose against the host Brazil. That's when Iraq beats South Africa. So far Denmark has played pretty well. They won 1:0 against South Africa. On the second day of action they could only draw 0:0 against Iraq though. Denmark´s strength is definitely defense, since they have not gotten a goal yet. Good defense will be crucial against Brazil as well, because Brazil will push for an early goal. Denmark will have to use the few chances they get, which they couldn't do against Iraq. Denmark’s hope for goals relies on Brentford striker and Captain Lasse Vibe, who hasn't scored yet. One advantage for Denmark: the pressure to win clearly rests on Brazil's shoulders.
Current form Brazil
The absolute superstar of the tournament is playing for Brazil. Barcelona-wing Neymar is taking part in the Olympic Games. But he hasn't shown much yet. The whole team hasn't performed well and hasn't found their form so far. With two draws Brazil currently ranks in third place of Group A. That's why a win against Denmark is an absolute must. Otherwise Brazil will very probably be eliminated from the tournament after the group phase. The only thing that would help them then would be a draw between South Africa and Iraq. So Brazil is the clear favorite for the game against Denmark. Brazil's market value is about 29 times the one from Denmark. The results against South Africa and Iraq showed however that money doesn't score goals. Both games resulted in a 0:0 draw, although there are a couple of players on the team who should be able to score like Neymar, Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City or Felipe Anderson from Lazio Rome for example. The team lacks a classic center forward however. The above mentioned players all feel at home on the offensive flank. One will see how Coach Rogério Micale will solve that problem on Thursday.
There is no question about who is the favorite in that game. Brazil is under enormous pressure though, while Denmark can only surprise and they should be full of self-confidence. We still think that the host will survive. Our recommendation: Tipp 2.
